IMI Awards are delighted to announce the launch of the Construction Plant or Machinery Maintenance qualifications. The new qualifications were developed as a result of significant demand from the industry and support at regional network meetings and will be available from 1st September 2014.
IMI Awards have created this qualification with input from key organisations, including the Construction Plant Trainers Forum, Finning UK Ltd and close involvement with Construction Skills, the Sector Skills Council and Industry Training Board for the construction industry. Many centres, who currently offer the Land Based Engineering qualifications, would benefit from the addition of the Construction Plant qualification to enhance their portfolio of courses, as there are many similar elements between them.
The Construction Plant qualification is unique in that all assessment materials have been developed to a consistent standard; meaning that any assessment taken through the awarding bodies of IMI Awards, C Skills Awards or the National Open College Network (NOCN), will be the same. The course covers all areas of construction plant, from small to large plant equipment and is mainly aimed at learners, who are 16 years and over, as part of their apprenticeship. IMI Awards are excited to offer this qualification to industry, from 1st September 2014, and look forward to seeing the development within the next generation of construction plant professionals.
