Dispensations applied to assessment plans for Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician (ST0068) and Bus and Coach Engineering Technician (ST0067)
The trailblazer group in conjunction with IfATE and OFQUAL have recently awarded dispensations to the assessment plans associated to ST0068 and ST0067.
The dispensations allow a temporary amendment to the pass marks for the ‘hurdle questions’ held within the online multiple-choice knowledge tests as well as an additional attempt if 3 attempts of this assessment have been taken prior to the dispensation. This final attempt should be taken within 12 months of the original EPA outcome notification.
For ST0067 the dispensation was valid from 21st September 2020 and IMI have applied the changes to the pass mark to the ‘hurdle questions’ from 7/7 to 5/7. Documentation updates on website to follow.
For ST0068 the dispensation was valid from 2nd November 2020 and IMI have applied the changes to the pass mark to the ‘hurdle questions’ from 5/5 to 3/5. Documentation updates on website to follow.
IMI will individually contact those apprentices and their providers who have reached their maximum re-sit/re-take limits for these assessments to allow the option for a further attempt with the new pass marks applied.
As part of the process, we will, as the EPAO:
- Fully record the evidence of the reason for the exception
- Request further evidence from you as the provider, to verify a period of re-training has taken place along with a learning plan to describe the journey required.
