BT Fleet honoured their apprentices who have played a key role in helping to expand the BT Fleet business.
The first BT Fleet Apprentice of the Year Awards were held at Moreton Morrell College, part of Warwickshire College Group.
Henry Brace, Managing Director of BT Fleet, said: "The awards ceremony was a fantastic opportunity to recognise the achievements of our apprentices over the past three years, their contribution to the business and their academic achievements through Warwickshire College."
Glenn Hind scooped the top award for Overall Apprentice of the Year. Robert Smethurst, Scott Marriott and Richard Knowlson were voted Apprentices of the Year for years one, two and three respectively. And Tewdwr John, William Lester and Richard Knowlson won the Apprentices’ Apprentice of the Year awards for years one, two and three.
BT Fleet have developed an award-winning apprenticeship course in association with Warwickshire College, designed to meet BT Fleet’s needs. It combines college- and garage-based modules.
The apprentices spend a third of their three-and-a-half-year course at Warwickshire College facilities, closely mentored by their college tutor and garage supervisor.
College Dean Angela Joyce attended the awards. And guest speakers from key BT Fleet customers were invited, including Andy Pettiford from Wales & West Utilities, Shaun Stevenson from G4S, and David Dawson of Euro Car Parts.
They highlighted how BT Fleet apprentices help keep their vehicles on the road, allowing them to maintain quality services for their customers.
