Celebration for Outstanding College

IMI Approved Centre of the Year, South Devon College receives outstanding prize from Automotive Tool Zone.

At a presentation on Thursday 27th February, South Devon College received a prize of TENG tools, worth over £1000, from online tool supplier, Automotive Tool Zone. The college was awarded with this prize after being named Approved Centre of the Year at the 2013 Outstanding Achievers Awards, a recognition event held by the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI).

Automotive Tool Zone were a sponsor of the Outstanding Achievers Awards due to their dedication to supporting those starting their careers in the motor industry and the dedicated staff who guide them.

“We are proud to be able to reward the effort and hard work that is going in to training within the automotive industry today and, by winning this award, South Devon College has shown they are maintaining the highest standards when training their learners,” said Eric Braham, Sales Manager of Automotive Tool Zone.
The prestigious award is a great achievement for the staff of South Devon College, who fought off competition from over 550 centres worldwide to claim the prize. Speaking of their accomplishment, the staff said they were proud to receive this recognition of the hard work they put in to both their centre and student achievements.

Graham Tribble, automotive Programme Co-ordinator said – “Winning the Approved Centre of the Year award has been an ambition of mine since starting teaching in 2007. This year we were recognised by the IMI for the hard work and effort every member of staff gives. Winning the award was made better by the tool voucher supplied by Automotive Tool Zone and I would like to thank Eric for presenting the tools in person to the staff and students.”
