Important Notice – Rule of Combination (ROC) for Levels 2 / 3 Diploma in Customer Service and Business Administration

The ROC Checker is a tool provided to help centres check that their planned selection of units meets the requirements of the qualification.

Due to the nature of the following Customer Service and Business Administration qualifications featuring a maximum number of set credits within some unit groups, the ROC Checker will not complete a final check that the maximum credits have not been exceeded for these groups.

  • Level 2 Diploma in Customer Service – 601/3456/2 (maximum of 7 credits in unit group D)

  • Level 3 Diploma in Customer Service – 601/3457/4 (maximum of 9 credits in unit group C)

  • Level 2 Diploma in Business Administration – 601/3451/3 (maximum of 10 credits in unit group C and a maximum of 6 credits in unit group D)

  • Level 3 Diploma in Business Administration – 601/3452/5 (maximum of 10 credits in unit group C and a maximum of 8 credits in unit group D)

It is the centre’s responsibility to ensure that when claiming a certificate that all qualification requirements have been met. This includes rules of combination and ensuring that the right units and minimum / maximum credits at the correct level have been met for each unit group to avoid the risk of submitting an invalid claim.

The specific unit requirements for each of these qualifications can be found within the candidate assessment summaries (CAS) on the IMI website and centres should always use the CAS to check that the correct units have been selected prior to claim.

For further information, please refer to the relevant qualification guidance notes or the ROC section of the IMI Operating Manual.
