Working with the IMI

IMI are looking for Item Writers/Authors to work with the Product Development Team in the development of online questions and assessments for newly developed Apprenticeship Standards. The role will involve participating in an author training workshop followed by attendance at specific item writing workshops. As an Item Writer/Author you will receive £200 per day and any travel and subsistence expenses will also be reimbursed.

External Quality Assurer

The Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) is the professional body for individuals working in the motor industry and the authoritative source of industry careers information, standards, qualifications and accreditations. The IMI’s Professional Register aims to drive up standards across the automotive industry, providing consumers and customers with added confidence in the industry and the professionals who drive it.

We are currently seeking an External Quality Assurer on a fixed term basis to cover maternity leave.  You will ensure the quality and consistency of IMI qualifications, accreditations & Quality Assured Programmes against IMI requirements and national standards along with regulatory requirements.  Ideally based in Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Gloucestershire or Oxfordshire, you will provide support to our centres, as well as developing and continually reviewing external quality strategies and effectively risk assess your allocated centres.

You will be able to identify any areas of non-compliance, high risk and development needs at centres and produce effective action plans and issue sanctions where appropriate.  You will provide advice and support on improving the performance, effectiveness, quality and consistency of their delivery of IMI products.

Product Specialist

Salary £34,000 pa plus benefits.
12 Month Fixed Term Contract – Homebased

The IMI’s Professional Register aims to drive up standards across the automotive industry, providing consumers and customers with added confidence in the industry and the professionals who drive it.

We are currently seeking a Product Specialist to work within our Product Development Team.  This is a full time, 12 month fixed term contract role that requires an individual with strong written and oral communication skills, excellent attention to detail, a commitment to maintaining and improving quality and a proven record of delivering training and the assessment of learners.

You will review and develop products related to industry assessment and learning products for use both in the UK and internationally.  You will need to effectively liaise with IMI staff and external stakeholders during the development of products and assessment materials, to ensure they meet the regulatory and stakeholder requirements.

This position is home-based with a requirement for some UK travel including attendance at meetings at our Head Office in Hertfordshire.
